Ball-stop fencing for a synthetic hockey pitch and sports fields

Ball-stop fencing has a visibility problem. It has to be tall enough to stop a lifted ball leaving the ground, which means a lot of fence in the sightline of everyone watching, and it sits directly behind the play, so anything that glints or reads as a heavy grid competes with the game. It also has to hold that height against wind without the top of the run moving.

Black-coated chainwire on galvanised framework, carried to full ball-stop height on the goal ends and stepped down along the flanks where containment matters less. The black finish drops the mesh back visually so spectators read the pitch rather than the fence. Around the dugouts and team shelters the line steps down again to a low rail, keeping the boundary continuous without walling in the benches. The cricket practice nets use the same system enclosed on all four sides.
